This is a big negative for alot of people where I live in SE Queensland. It's why alot of people like Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne. They don't get the extremes of Canada, but it's alot more seasonal.
You're right about the heat and humidity - it does get to you after a bit, but the big difference is we're all geared up for it - swimming pools, beaches, air-con, walking around the streets naked and so on.

I've been to some fantastic beaches in Canada, but I guess you completely missed my point.
