Default Aurora Borealis ?

What are the chances of seeing this from from Calgary or surrounding areas?

I am sure this has been answered before, but my lap top is having a fit everytime I try and search for it.

Chances are excellent especially if you get outside the city a little way to avoid the light pollution.

I think Morwenna was the last Calgarian to report seeing them, I also think they were visible from her northwest Calgary home.

Cheers
Steve

Aaaah yes I remember now. Hot tub, deck, right?

But if she goes out along the 1A Highway a little ways it should improve those odds.

Or if she spends too much time at The Last Straw she'll just think she saw them

Our main windows and deck face south, and the light pollution is pretty high, which is probably why I didn't see 'em ...... and we don't have a hot tub!

I would LOVE to see the Northern Lights. No joy as yet, (but then again I do go to bed pretty early due to #2 son being an early riser)

Does anyone know if there are certains times it is around?

You can sign up for an email notification service run by some observatory or other... I forget the name but I saw it here on the forum, can whichever kind soul post the link again?

Typically though, the night I saw them I did not receive the email telling me conditions were right
