That varies from company to company, your seniority, length of service and negotiating powers. When I started work in Canada in 1989, I got 10 days vacation (plus public holidays) - which was pathetic really. I now work in the US and get 26 days vacation (plus public holidays) - but I have been with the same company for the past 10 years.
I do also get another 2 weeks but thats for being on-call so not really holiday entitlement.
Seems to be the norm here to start on less then accumulate more with senority. After 5 years or so, the holidays tend to be not that bad.
