..
that why the really rich Torontonians have their horses on the north west side up on the escarpement (Caledon)

My kids especially my eldest son suffered from terrible Asthma in England. My eldest had 3 different types of inhalers and montilukast tablets too and now he only has to take his ventolin rarely. We did live in the Thames Valley in England and that is a bad area for asthma, we live in Vancouver now.
My mum though is a chronic asthmatic and she doesn't get any relief when she comes over which is a shame so it's not all good for everyone.

You may well be correct. I am abot an hour from Bellvile and yes...air could be better. However, never been as 'wheezie' as I was in the late summer of 2004 in the GTA...much better now...and no 'yellow fug' hanging over me ....

Note however that although poor air quality certainly correlates with asthma suffering, no-one actually understands exactly why (in terms of the detailed mechanism).
I'm just glad you are more comfy after relocating.

How damp is a Canadian winter? I've never been in winter, and although I know all about the temperature, I don't know how damp or dry it is?
Is it a dry cold rather than a damp cold?
We haven't decided where we want to emigrate to yet. Is there anywhere that is particularly damp, or humid in summer that may cause problems for my son?
Are there other asthmatics who find their health has improved since moving to Canada?
