BTW In at work now (in Toronto) and there's no snow at all here. I'm sure the boys in Afghanistan are on stand-by just in case we need them here in a hurry.

We now have a snowfall warning in effect with 15cm (& possibly more) forecast overnight. Looks like my new Snowblower is going to get a workout!

Well, Dear Readers, it's past time for an update on the Richmond Hill s-n-o-w situation. Here we go.....there is none.
The imperial sprinkling alluded to heretofore has succumbed to a stubbornly uppish thermometer thingy. Nowt but grass to be seen. dbd33 and I for once agree about the s-n-o-w depth....zilch, nada, null.
But all is not yet lost: according to my distinguished colleagues in Environment Canada, the jetstream is planning a Florida vacation on Monday. Suitably sub-zero temperatures are to be anticipated. Perhaps the little darling will shed a few tears on its way south.

I have to admit to being more than a little perplexed that this riveting thread has languished untouched for more than 48 hours.
Meanwhile, of course, the s-n-o-w depth has pointedly failed to make the crucial breakthrough from the realm of nothingness.
We are almost half way through January now here in Richmond Hill. Surely the state of the s-n-o-w-iness here, a place not far removed from the manufacturing and cultural engine of the second largest country in the world, is of at least of passing interest to this community, spread out, as it is, across the world?

Latest: another imperial sprinkling overnight and several centimetres (about half as many as several inches dbd) in the forecast for tonight. Palpable is the anticipation of release at last.

Ach, Du liebe Gott! Endlich, ein Mitglied der verdoppelten Bedeutungen verstehen kann! Noch schoener, ein Mitglied mit ausgepraegte Geschmack, zwar nur ein klein bisschen kompromiert, in dem dass, niemand wirklich YYZ lieben kann. Auch, vieleicht, noch enger begrenzt durch ein in etwa kleinerer Wortschaft?
