Show it as you would dial from Canada, no?

011-441-no zero, rest of area code, number.

Standard nomenclature would be +44 then your UK area code minus the initial zero

The long form would be 01144 then the UK code minus the initial zero

i.e. for Bedford UK (01234) from Canada or the US you would dial

01144 1234 etc

The "011" is the international access
"44" is the country code for the UK
1234 is the local area code

But dont expect many to call....

Really?

I dial 011-441-424-nnnnnn for my Mother. It works. I thought her number dialled from within the UK was 0424-nnnnnn but maybe not. Maybe it's 1424-nnnnnn.

Her number (in the UK) will have changed from 0424 to 01424 a few years back. Clearly they had to increase the capacity of the numbering system from 10 billion numbers to 100 billion. Personally I blame it on the illegal immigrants. Coming over here, stealing our phone numbers.
