Default Applying from singapore

I applied in early december 2002 for skilled worker
immigration.

Until now, I did not receive any replies other than AOR
in jan 2003.

Is this normal ?

Hi xng

Any up-date on your status. Does it take long to receive AOR from Singapore. I also intend to submit application thru Singapore.

Appreciate to hear from you.

Cheers

Nothing ! This is frustrating as it is almost a year now. AOR is fast, just a few weeks.

Hi xng

Thanks for the reply. Could I take it that you did submit all relevant documents and achieved applicable passmark (or higher) and yet no reply after almost a year?

Cheers

Default My brother applied from Singapore in Nov 2002

My brother also applied from Singapore in Nov 2002. He got file # in 3 months, and his case was opened in April 2003. But after that, we have received no update.

AOR means 'Application Opened Receipt' ??

I visited: http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/singapo...ase_processing
But not getting any idea, when interview can be arranged for my brother? May be after 36 months ???

By the way, I am USA permanent resident and Canadian too.

Here is my timeline from Sg.

Applied : Nov 2001
AOR : Jan 2002
Interview : Jan 2003
Visa Stamp : Jun 2003

My timeline is delayed a bit coz I had to do extra medicals. If no extra medicals then the visa stamping could have been in Mar/Apr.

hope that helps

After that, no progress.

RSK, congratulations.... Your things done in 1 and half year. Otherwise Singapore website says that, it takes 36 months.

The 36 months mentioned in the web site could be the max amount of time taken to process any application but does not mean that all applications will take that much time. As for SG I have seen quite a few cases processed in 14-18 months if all your docs are presented properly and there is no delay in providing the PC and med tests from your side. So in my opinion there is only one thing you can do to expedite the process and that is to provide everything they need prompty and correctly.

hope that helps.

Default Thanks RSK. All documents were provided properly.

RSK,

Thanks for clarification.

All documents were provided propeprly including PCC and other documents. My agent/lawyer is located in Canada. Candidate(my brother) stays in India. May be document verification in India(from Singapore), makes delay.

Thanks,

RSK,

Did you obtain waiver for language proficiency or submit IELTS etc?
Appreciate your input.

I did not get any specific waiver from CIC for language and I didnt submit any IELTS scores. But what I did though is I had given TOEFL earlier with the intention of going back to university which is complketely unrelated to my PR application.
So when I submitted my PR app I just submitted my TOEFL score card along with it . I am not sure if that helped in anyways.

Cheers..rsk

If I am not mistaken, RSK application came under the old system of evaluation. Nowadays, IELTS is almost compulsory. I submitted my results just recently to avoid further delay.
