(Hands up)

I had a Vic 20 when i was a kid. 3.5k memory and got a 16k ram pack (huge cartridge that plugged in the back). I thought it was so cool playing blitz and gorf.... then i started playing with basic too. Gosubs..goto, pokes and peeks.

now i look at the 22 or 23 characters per line and the blinking cursor ..... my god its huge!

had commodore 64, amiga 512 then pc's. Love to go for a mac as have to say they do look cool but so used to a pc.

can you open word docs (or other thigns like powerpoint) on your apple does it convert them with its version of office ? or can you get software for it?

guess i am part way converted to apple as i did buy an iPhone last year:)

I was made to buy (on my credit card) an Imac for my now very much EX boyfriend. I remember it costing a heck of alot of money in those days - and ever since, I hated them. It is a very expensive paperweight too!

I now have a PC laptop (for which I'm finding purchasing a carry case quite hard) which is great and I won't be looking to convert to Macs again!

I do hear good things about them however!

I agree. I kind of look on Macs as an expensive alternative although admittedly they look good and obviously work well. PC's are a relatively low cost way of owning a computer and I suppose I tend to shirk back slightly from what I see as a certain smugness from Mac owners personified by the Mac ads. But I'm a hypocrite because if they cost a little less I'd be happy to add one to my collection. ;)

I watched "I am Legend" last night and Will Smith was trying to save what was left of the human race with a Mac so they must be very good machines and you only ever see Macs in movies!
