Smile Anyone tried Google earth ?

Wow !!

Absolutely amazing . You can have a look at an aerial satellite map anywhere in the world . The detail is quite incredible .
Try it , although it does need a half decent computer and broadband .

Be warned though , you end up spending hours on this .

Cheers
Phil

I've not tried Google Earth, but did have a look at Google Moon yesterday (if you try it, keep zooming in for a close up view of what the moon is made of).

Is this the map picture thingy that Grah is so fond of? It works on my Mac using Safari. Don't like to touch internet exploDer so can't be sure about that. If it's something else we're talking about, ignore me

Edit: ignore me. I see now that Google Earth is not Google maps!

Apparantly it`s early days . If you notice there are certain areas , mostly cities , that are very crisp and clear , you can almost just make out what type of cars are being driven.
In time Google say the whole world will be properly mapped .

I take it you do have a decent graphics card ( or built in like me ? )

Cheers

Woooo, thanks for that Phil. Yes, addictive (I'm happy that it's raining).

Ok Earth Googlers -- pop quiz.

Go to 80 (degrees) 35'14.63 N and 67 (degrees) 14'22.22 W -- what is significant about this location?

(Just priming you all for your citizenship tests -- though this question probably will not be on it!)

For anyone on a Mac - don't bother trying to download this - not available for Mac's at this time.

Real disappointment as I would have loved to been able to play with it!
