Default Anyone moved a business province to province?

Just wondered if anyone has moved a business from province to province?

We are moving from Alberta to Nova Scotia and partner has a corporation (he is an IT contractor) - so far we have been getting the run around from both provinces. Alberta says we just need to take a Certificate of Continuance and the same corp. can be continued in NS, while NS is asking for a whole load of doc's (including some which need to go through a lawyer) for the business to continue. All have costs involved and we are wondering if it isn't going to be easier to just close down the AB corp and open up a new one in NS.

If anyone has any experience or advice it would be appreciated as we seem to be cought up in the familiar tale of one province not knowing the other one even exists - it is almost like moving to another country!

It might depend on whether your taxes have any carry forwards you might want to retain for the new company. Hard to advise without all the facts.

Good luck
