My OH is going to Montreal & Calgary on a look-see / meet potential employers in October.
I've been looking into possible areas to stay in and have identified Hudson, Qc and Cochrane, Ab. (reasons : not a city, stuff for 3 kids, schooling, etc etc)
We have friends near Calgary he's going to meet, but anyone in Hudson who would be willing to possible meet him for a coffee and give their view on the place ?
Many thanks !

Seriously, no replies ? Oh well, never mind. Husband will be meeting other new arrivals in Montreal (Outremont).

Probably not a place most expats would chose to live in. Ive got drunk there thats about all I can say about it.

it's a nice enough place to visit. My in-laws used to live in Baie d'Urfe, just past Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue on the Island, so I've been there a few times but never lived in the vicinity. Hudson is a bit twee for my taste, from a visitor's perspective it seemed like the kind of place I would expect to be a little Stepford-ish. But, I should emphasise, I have no absolutely no factual basis for that opinion other than a few short visits to the community theatre, a festival of some sort, the ferry to Oka...

Stepford ? Bring it ! Just looking for a small town, don't really get living in cities, although nice to have one nearby should I get the urge for proper shopping / a bit of culture.

If for some reason, living in Quebec is not desired, I would recommend South Lancaster, Ontario.

I have a number of friends who live in the Hudson/St Lazare area. It's a lovely small town area and I would have loved to live there when I was in Montreal (I was 'on island' in DDO)
