Seem to remember talk of it.
One half gone out on a student WP with 2nd half on open WP. 2nd half then got job and applied for PR? If so to what success and how long did the process take?
Thanks
Tim

Did Batty do it that way? And Tiaribbon? A search might turn up more info.

we came on my student permit with OH on open permit while PR was/is going on in the background. There were very few jobs for OH to apply for let alone one for LMO so we waited for PR. Due any minute now.
It has cost us much more than we thought it would in spite of research. No jobs, hourly rate low, no study support before you take any trade exams. Plus open work permit says you arenr allowed to go to school
So, if you do it this way make sure your PH can get a good paying job, ie more than £20/hour and that you are prepared to spend some capital.
On the positive side I have made some good friends through being at college and so its less isolating.
