I ride in the summer. I absolutely loath the idiots who do it in the winter. They wobble along in the dark, unlit, getting stuck in drifts and skidding on the streetcar tracks, unstable and invisible, and they get all bent out of shape if you so much as bump them a bit with the car. It's not sensible, just some gay/macho cross over thing, better kept to the gym. Do it if you must but, please, don't complain if someone who cannot see you, splats you like a tomato when you tumble in the path of his car.

There are good cycle path along the Bow River towards town, but I don't think you'll be doing it when it gets real cold!

Bike paths are a whole other thing, if I can work half a day and go through the parks, I'll ride in the winter. It's just riding on the road that's not sensible.
