I don't know if this will be of any use to you but I sometimes listen to 5Live's football pods. Occasionally it won't "work" and this site has proved a useful alternative.
Listen to episodes of 5 live's Football Daily on podbay There may be other BBC radio stuff on there.
There are a number of Radio 4/worldservice programs on CBC during the night like Witness, Fifth Floor, Hardtalk etc and the CBC website has a pod facility, so maybe they are accessible there too.

I have been following all this info and i don't quite get it. I use (like many others) Filmon and with a small subscription each month i can record up to 10 hours of programming. The previous "download" option has been removed now by them which is a pain but not a deal breaker BUT i have never used a VPN or any other service to try and cheat the system and when you register with Filmon it knows you are in Canada so why can i get all the UK channels?
How is it that Filmon are able to freely provide the UK channels without issue to people living outside of UK.
I read somewhere that Filmon cannot provide UK channels to the US or Australia due to regulations.
Just wondering, and hoping they continue to show them

Wouldn't having a VPN solve the problem of issues with TV licence?
someone sent me this today & in view of the licensing charges for BBC IPlayer, has anyone using a VPN/DNS tried 'catch up TV'?

I no longer use MediaHint but I did for a few years until Firefox disabled it (even the "unofficial" version I had extended use of) and while this is a new box, the question about a TV licence was just a part of iPlayer.
I wasn't asked every time I went onto it, it seemed to 'remember' but whenever I'd not been on iPlayer for a week or so, this question was often asked of me. Saying yes was all that was needed to continue. While the box may be new, the idea doesn't seem to be.

I just tried iplayer using Expat Shield Hotspot Shield (costs $30 a year for the non-ads, premium version). It allowed me to watch iplayer straight away. It did ask me if I have a licence though.

I have not used VPN service ever but continue to get quality BBC content plus all other UK channels via Filmon.

Confirmed it's still working fine with UnoTelly, tried it out last night and watched Sunday's Dragon's Den. Did get asked for a license, just said yes. Worked fine.

I think it's because none of those handle, BBC, ITV etc have tried suing Filmon, some of the US ones have and those channels aren't available.
