A wise move, especially considering potential changes afoot.

There doesn't seem a great saving from what I've seen on several providers. Tunnelbear seems a bigger difference ($50 instead of $84) - but more expensive to begin with and I wasn't impressed with my trial.

Yeah thats what I thought... I agree, the savings was like $10 for annual vs monthly, not worth the risk.

I've tried to use tunnelbear for small things and wasn't impressed either. I do have a proper VPN for using to secure public connections and such (Privateinternetaccess, was really cheap, $40 USD for the year and it has good speed), but for unblocking Netflix/BBC I prefer the DNS workarounds like Unotelly et al as they still go through your full internet connection and give the fastest speeds

Yeah, last thing you want is to be dinged for CP someone watched through your connection via Hola... Unotelly is down for us for US netflix as of last night unfortunately. Good thing we hadn't paid for it yet, still on the trial till 1st June. I think we may just end up going for one of those android boxes with the Netflix-like interface that just pulls all the shows from Bittorrent networks. If netflix is going to enforce the geo-blocking then its just easier to go that way.

Balls, that's another alternative off the list.

Currently trying Overplay.

Success accessing UK channels and after flipping NF region on the Mac, I can watch US NF but only on the Mac.

All iOS devices and Apple TVs all give me a "ur cheating" message.

This is despite, the Mac, Router and all iOS and Apple TV devices all having the stated DNS numbers changed.

Yeah.... I've given up on US netflix. I've moved over to using the Build store http://builds.io/ for $10 US per year to install "CinemaBox" on my iPad, where I can access any show I like and which then streams to my Apple TV.

I have used Overplay for a few years now. Watching UK NF on the Mac is consistently good however my Samsung smart TV can be very hit and miss.

My access to UK TV has never been so good. I use Unblockus.com and I can go to BBC and ITV at any time on my iPad/PC and it activates immediately as if I'd just switched on the TV. Occasionally I need to reboot Unblockus but not too often these days. It's just great. I'm waiting for the hammer to fall and end my pleasure.

Yep. Unblockus is still a good alternative for BBC and such but unfortunately does not work anymore for US netflix. :fingerscrossed: it keeps working for the UK stuff.

So...the question is, does anyone have experience of which VPN companies are actually working at the moment to enable us to watch BBC? Not so worried about netflix. It all seems a bit hit and miss at the moment.
Thanks in advance

Things are not looking good for unotelly, paypal have pulled the plug on them, they have taken down their Netflix helper page, filmfy , which is a real shame. So I am not expecting Netflix to get fixed. I am now experiencing issue with unotelly DNS, although other people report no problems in a thread elsewhere. I am still good with unotelly VPN, but that is not a preferred option. On unotelly's page, they say their region picker is down, and their support forum has been striped.

Not good :(

Its ironic. The content distributors don't want Netflix to turn a blind eye to accessing their best (US) offering from other countries, but by forcing Netflix to patrol it, they are screwing themselves over. Because now, instead of giving money to Netflix every month, part of which goes to them, i'm now turning to "other ways" of getting the content I want and they get no money. C'est la vie.

May the fleas of a thousand camels nest in your armpits. Outrageous.

I've got so used to "other ways" that even when I discover my other ways content is on netflix I still tend to view it in other ways.
