I like Canadians, but I miss British People. Their sense of humour and wit in particular. That's why I come to this board.
It must be bad because I even found myself laughing at an old episode of "Keeping Up Appearances" (Mrs. Bucket!) the other evening.... I didn't think much of it when I was there.....

No regrets, I'm glad I've been given the opportunity to experience life in another country, but after 5 years of the Expat experience, I am warmly open-eyed to going back to my home-land. I don't hate Canada, nor do I dislike it.....I just miss my important people (family), all that was familiar to me there. I do "loathe" the Canadian winters however.........at first you think they are fun and "yeah great!" but I'm on my 5th now and I hate being cold and having to drive around like a nervous wreck when it's snowed or ice on the roads. Not good when you're not the most confident of drivers.
Emigration is the experience of a lifetime....something everyone should have the opportunity of enjoying. My only problem is my OH wants to continue "enjoying" whereas I want to follow my heart and go home....now that is where it can get sticky and all in the MBTTUK forum get the gist of my situ.
Ce La Vie! Go for it.....you'll never know how you feel unless you give it a shot.

I must be a bit older... The shows I miss are The Fast Show, Harry Enfield, Alan Partridge, The Office, The Young Ones, Yes Prime Minister, .... Dad's Army, Ab Fab, Steptoe & Son, 'Till Death Us Do Part..... crikey, just about any proper comedy!!

Having just started out on the long road of immigration I would be interested to know whether anyone now living in Canada regrets making the move. I know everyone has their own reasons for leaving the UK or for wanting to return but some people think I'm on another planet for wanting to experience life in another country. Any thoughts?
