Any Peripatetic Musical Instrument Teachers out there
My wife is a peripatetic clarinet & saxophone teacher, just wondering if there are any opportunities in Nova Scotia for this and how does it work over there.
Here in Bristol, UK the local council employ and send out teachers to various schools.
Thinking of applying on the NS PNP and need to know how strong this would be in an application and who to contact as possible employers...........
Cheers

It's a teacher who travels to various different schools and homes to teach as opposed to a classroom teacher who works at the same school each day (and who generally don't teach specific instruments). It's common for teaching musical instruments in the UK.

mmmmm .... I don't know about teaching in schools, but here in Calgary there are local music stores that also offer lessons, and have vacancies for teachers ... or a more profitable way would be to advertise locally and just do private lessons in your own, or in pupils' homes.

Music lessons in my sons school are all done in house, but I don't know if this is the same all over NS.
There is a Conservatory of Music http://www.maritimeconservatory.com/ or the Nova Scotia Music teathera Association http://www.nsrmta.ca/index.html where you may be able to find out the information you need.
I have no idea what the demand is or how it would support PNP, but it may be a start to speak to people in the business.
