We should do a monthly web-ex on here for people looking to move to Canada.

Once they see what has happened to us they'll soon change their minds.

The experience of BE members of those still in Canada & those that went back home'

great idea - in fact oink sets the tone from which a thread titled 'so you want to emigrate to Canada ... 'read this thread'

Develop a speech impediment, perhaps through having some sort of boil grow in your mouth. That way you can experience people nearly understanding what you say, but not quite.

So does everyone posting in this thread regret their move?

From the description of where you live I know you're loving it! We're actually going to pass through Kelowna and have a look on our way from Vancouver to Calgary!

Anyone who truly regretted it would be on the first plane back. This forum is just a bit of whinging to let off steam (as such behaviour is discouraged in Canada).

I don't regret the move. I don't think that, if I knew then what I know now, I'd have done it, but I don't regret it. The same is true of much else.

I wish I’d written it ten years ago. Think of all the lives I could of saved. It’s a haunting realization that’s sure.

No.

With hindsight, and if internet info resources had existed back then to the extent they do today, I probably wouldn't have come/stayed as long as I have. But who knows whether the next (putative) destination would have been better, worse or same sh*t different bucket... :)

and, may I ask, how is having a dog hanging round your neck going to help sway a decision?
I suppose it's the cost of dragging it along with oneself.
Weather is important, whether it matters or not. In our case it mattered much.
