Just to bring us back to earth.... we had a call this evening from a very good friend to tell us she has advanced cancer of the pancreas.
This is devastating news and we know she will fight it every inch of the way. Our love and best wishes go to our dear friend Elizabeth.
That's decided the beneficiary cause of my next charity ride.
Makes you understand how brief and valuable this time we have really is.

Well done Simon, Laura and young 876's...wish my husband was as organised as you
Very sorry to hear about your friend Elizabeth...what an awful thing to happen to her. Hope she fights and pulls through.
All the best with the landing...enjoy the limo...great idea...but I don't think they wouldd take two massive dog crates when we arrive

Terrible news, very sorry to hear about your friend. Horrible bloody disease, lost my uncle a couple of years ago to cancer, he was only 49.
I trust you are in transit now Simon. Hope everything pans out smoothly for you. Let us know how much you left in the minibar.
Regards
Chris

Hi Folks,
A quick update. The container arrived this morning and left at 12.00. We waved bye bye to all our worldly goods.
Tonight we stay with some friends and went out for a meal in Eastbourne (where the fastest thing is rigor mortis). We had just sat down to eat when my parents walked in through the door. Considering they live near Toulouse, it was some surprise. Cool, eh?
Plenty of champagne, beer and great Italian food. Thanks Christine & Peter. Thanks Mum & Dad.
Bye bye UK. Canada tomorrow. Excited or what?
Today UK. Tomorrow we land.
We'll be out of touch for a few days. More to follow.
Simon & Laura.
