All packed up and (almost) ready to go!!!

All packed up and (almost) ready to go!!!
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone in this forum for all the great help and advice over the past year!
We're flying Glasgow - Toronto with Thomas Cook on Monday the 14th... anyone else with the same schedule?
We decided to ship our things with the Excess Baggage Company.
For 3 large boxes (equivalent to 1.5 suitcases) and 1 medium box with maximum weights of 35kg each we're paying under £300 to ship by sea... not too shabby!
My husband's on his last nightshift with the police tonight... move out of our flat tomorrow and staying with the in-laws this weekend.
Wonder if the hubby will end up packing or cleaning anything before we fly out??? LOL - I can always dream!

Was wondering who you were getting to ship your boxes ?
I am near Glasgow, and am looking for someone local to pick up, at reasonable cost.

Hey Tech,
The courier just arrived to collect the boxes. We used a company called 'Excess Baggage". Here is the website: http://www.excess-baggage.com/
They are based out of London so they have couriers drop off empty boxes, bubble wrap and packing tape then the couriers return at the date of your choice to collect them. They do a door-to-door service from Glasgow - Toronto so it is really convenient!

I know - crazy eh?! We did end up getting all the photos done at SupaSnaps!!! Thanks for the tip!

We're thinking of using Excess Baggage too - do they do the customs clearance etc at the other end too?

Hello Jenny,
glad to see you got sorted out with shipping your stuff over.
Looks like the quotes you got were very similar to mine.
We are not moving till 20th Sept so keeps us posted on how you get on with your stuff being shipped.
