We travelled with a 2 year old on one of our flights. Pack lots of small new things they haven't seen before to amuse them - books, crayons anything like that is good too. We had mini magnetic drawing boards too which were fun. Take some snacks/sweets too; we found that helped sometimes. At that age, ours slept a good deal of the way too which was good.

All the best with the new adventure!

Good luck on your move, in terms of the home sickness it varies for everyone but the thing is as long as you go into it expecting it then it shouldn't hit you as hard because you've mentally prepped yourself.

It can be excrutiating for some and then others take to Canada like a duck takes to water. Hopefully it's the latter for you and your family.

In terms of the anticipation, remember that this may be the last you see of the UK for a while so instead of dreaming of Canada make sure you enjoy yourself there because it's all too easy to sit back and wait for the days to go by instead of doing the things you love about home and make sure you see as much of your loved ones as much as you possibly can!

Good luck again
