Default Alberta legal help

This post may not be the usual post but I am struggling to find some legal advice and I am trying everything currently. Please do not judge me as the events in this post were in my youth and due to stupid and regretful actions.

I am a Canadian born British citizen who holds Dual Nationality. 3 years ago I returned to Edmonton for work. After a drunken night out, my friend fell over and was knocked unconious and regretfully, I followed the ambulance in my car. I was charged with DUI and fined $1300. My grand mother then passed away in England so I returned for the funeral and never returned to Edmonton. I am now looking to go back as I miss it very much. I want to settle the fines but does anyone know if I'll be likely to face a prison sentence for this. Thanks in advance. YEGBRit.

You will need to speak to a criminal lawyer. I suggest you call the Lawyer Referral Service run by the Law Society of Alberta on 403-228-1722. They will be able to provide you with the contact details of 3 such lawyers in Alberta that have offered to provide up to 30 minutes of free advice. You will need to tell them where you are to enable them to provide you with contact details of those in your area. I suggest you say you are from Edmonton.
