Re: Alberta or bust
Hi Guys,
Good luck with Trotter and Morton. I think that they are in the process of looking to employ Electricians, sheet metal tecnicians and plumbers etc Check out their web site on www.trotterandmorton.com. You can always email your resume (cv) to [email protected] Good luck....Eddie & Julie. ps, we have lived in the Calgary area (Okotoks) since 2006, and we absolutely love it here........ |

my name is darren drew and married with 4 children and a plumber. I have had a job offer from a company called Morton & Trotter in Calgary. Has anybody had dealings with or taken the jouneyman plumbers exam. apparently i have to sit the exam within 180 days on arriving. Is the best route for me to apply for a temp' work permit or go down the foreign workers route as i would like for us to move out there as a family [ together ]. All advice gratefully received as i am in limbo at wich way to turn. thanks all. darren : You must get your Lmo after your credentials have been assessed your partner can get an open ended visa when she can work virtually anywhere and kids can get study visas After your here for a few months and get the exam behind you applyfor you permanant residence visa will take about 6-8 months. I have several plumbers coming who would also be doing the exam so Im sure there will be alot of discussion amongst the group The key here is passing the exam Warren |

We have letter from AAIT and it advises that we have 12mths to get there and activate it, after that OH would have to re-apply for AAIT approval.
Runs in line with the LMO as that also says 12mths as well. OH got offer off that firm, but we decided we liked another area, good luck and keep us posted.. |
