We're going to take a drive out next weekend. I wanted that initial perception tempered by some brutal reality off the locals. This has been really helpful.

No reality req to be honest. They are all nice enuf areas IMO.

Go to Hamilton. You can get a mansion

If we stayed downtown we were looking at 750. From initial look i think we can find what we want for 450-500.

That's good money for the area you are looking at. Near me the houses are approx $320 -400,000 closer you get to the lake adds a few grand.

If i can get something for that i'll be well pleased.

There's a Hooters in Whitby.

And a strip club at the Royal on Brock.

I live in Williamsburg in North Whitby. It's a very nice newish neighbourhood with parks, walking trails and good schools.

It is a little far from the GO station, but if you don't want to drive to the train, the local bus is only 65 cents if you're going to the GO station.

One thing I don't like is there's no retail within walking distance of where I live, although everything you need is only a five minute drive away.

And prices are way cheaper than Downtown Toronto!

...and what is center, I presume he meant centre.
