Default AirTransat change of booking policy

Apparently now I can't call the UK and book flights from Canada and pay in pounds, saving money. Does anyone know about this or a way round. Flights for december are ridiculously high if i pay online from Toronto. Thanks

I seem to recall that CanadianAffair did the same thing a little while ago too.

Im not totally convinced there isnt some connection between the two anyway.

Flights in late december are always ridiculously expensive. People have time off at Xmas, so demand is high.

Is the OP suggesting that we in Canada are getting hosed on return flights to the UK whereas UK residents get a cheaper deal?
Im shocked.
Just for fun I looked up these on Expedia.ca
Leave Canada YYZ on 21 Dec to 4 Jan return via LHR
Cheapest ticket $1660
Leave LHR same date to YYZ is only $1250
Leave Buffalo same date $1391
Leave Detroit $1243
I guess we are getting hosed lol.

Can't you ask someone in the uk to book the flights for you?

no you can't. It's the same thing, they have to pay (and get quoted) in the dollar price. Previously they never asked me where i was calling from so they didn't care as long as you paid, and i used my uk debit card.

I booked at the nd of last month, flying out of YYZ at the end of this month to London. I was a ble to use the coupon and booked 2 1-way tickets for us.

I'll say book now and don't lallygag over it as the price will go up even more as it gets closer to xmas.

For those that don't know...Air Transat is affiliated with Canadian Affair. Canadian Affair is not an airline
