Hi all,
Wondered if anyone has used Westjet internal flights within Canada - if so, what is your opinion? If they are not too good, can anyone recommend reliable airlines flying internally?
Also, what are people's thoughts on Zoom airlines from UK to Canada? Prices seem great, but is that reflected in the service?
We're looking to do a research trip to incorporate Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Alberta (not asking too much!!).
Any airline opinions greatly appreciated!

As far as internals I'm not sure about NB-AB\NS-AB but I have been looking at Calgary-Montreal and westjet can be more expensive than AC so be aware of that fact.
Try http://www.canjet.com/en_home.aspx
Also dont forget you could always use a different airline for each leg.

Hi
We used Zoom last summer and thought they were very good value for money. We paid extra to have the bigger seats and it still came to less than using Air Canada. Plane on the way was a little tatty but fine on the way back. Service was good too.

Westjet is great. Friendly, accommodating, well-maintained planes with seat-back TVs (most of them, that is) - I won't fly on any other airline internally anymore. Air Canada can take a long walk off a short pier.

Westjet is fantastic, so no worries there. As for Zoom, it's a charter airline and you gets what you pays for.

Westjet - excellent, and fun to fly with.
Zoom - you can fly in and out of different airports, so great for a recce trip of different places.
Air Canada is becoming more competitive re prices depending when you are flying (cheaper than ZOOM the last twice we used them) so worth keeping an eye on their prices, especially since they fly from/to UK each day rather than only once or twice a week.

We have flown Air Transat a couple of times (booked via www.globespan.com) and have no complaints. Not a great deal of legroom, but adequate for a flight to Toronto. The first flight we did with them they had these fab personal DVD players which kept the kids quiet the whole journey! They were on a trial and sadly were not available on the flight last summer. We also did an internal flight from Toronto to Halifax using Canjet and they were fine. They worked out slightly cheaper than Westjet but we had left it late to book, so didn't get a particularly good deal. I recall a post a while back about Westjet, which made me laugh at the time:

We have also flown Air Canada to Halifax on two occasions, but the planes were a bit shabby. We used them out of necessity rather than choice
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Don't discount the US carriers, they can all get you from one side of Canada to the other and may cheaper/less hassle than Westjet or AC.

Thank you everyone - great advice. Amazed about quality offered by Air Canada - shows that the better known airlines are not always the best.
I'll definitely be better informed when I book our trip.
