Hi everyone,
I have tried to find some old threads, but not having much success yet.
Someone posted a while ago about how they downloaded aircraft noises to play to their pets so they had heard it before.
I have tried to download noises from youtube, and also googled "plane noises" but I seem to only get videos or sounds that only last a couple of seconds.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am more stressed about their flight than I am about my own!!
thanks in advance
Rachel

Silly though it may see, you could always take them for a wander around your local friendly neighbourhood airport approach. If they aren't too fussed about the noise of planes taking off and landing, I think they may be okay. Besides, how are you going to keep the earplugs in their ears while listening to the recording??

Happily, there appear to be quite a few posts on this forum from people who've flown their pets successfully, so that makes me feel a little better. What keeps me going is knowing that thousands of animals travel safely by air every year, so statistically ours should be ok. I think my main concern is that they remember to put our pets on the plane in the first place!! I plan to ask a member of the cabin crew to check they're safely on board before we take off (or else check myself!
)It could be that we humans are assuming our pets share the same fears as us, but that in reality they're not fazed by the noise at all. I know one of my dogs isn't...the other day we were walking down a country lane and a really noisy road sweeper drove right alongside us - my dog never batted an eyelid! (perhaps I'd better check her ears aren't clogged up with wax!

It was Rhodey's who played their doggy aircraft noises - I shall e-mail them now to see where they got them from (to my shame I have lost their telephone number

I think owners worry far more than it affects the animals.

Hi Rachel
I downloaded aircraft noises from several sites, the best ones came from You Tube...by the time we left the UK our Spaniel wasn't in the least phased by the aircraft noises which she had played to her whilst in her Sky Kennel at lord knows how many decibels!!!
When I searched You Tube I searched for Airbus 330 333 and Air Canada I got some excellent take off and landings I just save the page on a shortcut to desk top. If you do do a search for aircraft noises on You Tube, look for one saying something like `Take Off from Heathrow and London views for 5 minutes....something like that anyway`.... it`s really good as it recorded the take off and then kept videoing so you get a good five minutes of just general engine sound.
PM me if you have trouble finding them and I will search for the links...good luck everyone flying there pups to Canada...I was scared to death about flying my 9 year old Spaniel and she was fab! Cant recommend Air Canada enough either.
Mrs A, I put a letter on Chloes Sky Kennel saying `..Hello my name is Chloe Rhodes, this is my first flight etc etc .... explained we were worried about her, said she liked cold drinks ...we were sitting on the runway at Heathrow and one of the ground crew from Air Canada came on board found us and told us she was safe and loaded, she had had a drink and was settling down
I am sure this was way above and beyond what his job required them to do and was very grateful. On arrival at Calgary airport when we went through customs they came and told us she was fine and the Vet had seen here and we had a healthy dog!...Noisy, but healthy!
Piff Poff ..shame on you indeed
I am about to email you, been on evenings all week 3pm til 11.45pm, not the most sociable shift!!
