Default Aircraft Engineer seeks work in Canada

Hello to each and all.

As the title suggests, I am an Aircraft Engineer looking for an employment opportunity to live and work in Canada.

I have approx 22 years of aircraft maintenance experience of both military and civilian commercial aircraft. My experience is mainly in a Line maintenance environment (working on "live" aircraft at International airports) and this is the prefared employment I seek.

I went to the Expo 08 at Leeds today and spoke to a representative from IMP.

If anyone knows of opportunities in my chosen profession, then I would appreciate any info or contacts.

I've just become a member today so I'm not sure if I can "advertise" myself, so please accept my apologies if I am wrong.

Many thanks

Just to elaborate slightly. I am Airframes, Engines and Electrics and hold a full unrestricted EASA B1 licence (previously held BCAR section L licence then changed to JAR 66).

Many thanks

Hi there,

Not sure of the exact companies but I have seen quite a few aircraft job going here in Victoria, mainly around the float plans. But there are a couple of small aircraft firms here quite often looking for engineers.

Worth a search.

You would need to be Transport Canada certified though.

Harbour Air and West Coast are the two normally looking for people. Might be difficult at minute being off season but they might be looking for next season.

I am sure there is an aviation company too but can remember which one it is. Might be West Coast...

Thanks Boys and Girls for the info and links; I'll give them all a good looking over.

My career is purely fixed wing, from fast jets in the Military to mainly Boeing 737 CL & NG, B757 and B767. All was on the Ramp (line maintenance)

I have had MD DC10 and Airbus A300, A319, 320 & 321 experience in a hangar maintenance environment but that was about 9 years ago, so not recent.

My intensions would to be a permanent employee rather than a contractor. If I wanted to contract then I could do this in Europe and probably earn more money.

Looking to relocate and give my family a better standard of living than over here in the UK.

Thanks again for all the info and pm's.........keep them coming

I agree you would be wasted working at IMP on the shopfloor with these quals, however don't write off IMP totally. They have other jobs and projects you could do and the private charter wing INOTECH may have opening for licenced technicians.

You could also try Airbornesolutions thay are a company operating in the oilfields of Alberta. I believe it was started buy two Army pilots and employs several exforces technicians. So might be worth an Email

Thanks guys for the links and info. Will have a good look now that I have 4 days off shift, so hopefully will compile my "wish list" and go from there.

Problem is, for example, if a company has vacancies in different parts of Canada, then where are the areas to go to, and likewise, the areas to avoid.

Thanks again
