I will be going to Toronto next month and being that I am starting in San Diego my airline options are more limited then usual when going to YVR.
Westjet is out because they are over 400 dollars with a overnight connection in Calgary, if I want to take the red eye the same day, its over 600. (some reason from the US they are not competitive.)
Air Canada is non-stop for 273 (all taxes included.)
Delta is $283 with a connection in Detroit.
I like flying and airports so I don't mind a connection and I have flown Delta so know what they offer on-board.
Anyone flown Air Canada on the A319? How was it?
I may also take Amtrak just because I always wanted to take a train across country.

given it's just an airbus with 2 wings and 2 engines, i'm now looking forward to this trip even more - thanks for clarifying it'll be exactly the same as the A380 i'll arrive on earlier.

Are you sure? If you look at the diagram from the link you posted it has no engines or wings. Must be a missile plane or catapult launched

Its a flight from Montreal to LA what are you expecting or what do you require. Are you looking for a pod/bed seat. Its a 4.5 hr flight and with the time changes you get in earlier.Does it really matter how good the airline is or the crew on board if you end up sitting next to the passenger from hell and the flight is full

Why the hang up as to whether it is an A319? From a pax perspective it's pretty much the same experience as an A320, 321, B737 etc. I fly regularly across the Atlantic from St Johns to Heathrow on an A319 with AC and have thus far survived the experience.
I'd take the direct flight over a connection any day of the week & that seems a good price. I fly AC a lot and find them no worse (or markedly better) than any other airline.

Depending on time of year snow/ice at LAX non issue Montreal not so.
Nothing I can say will alleviate your fear of flying but you have better odds on flying safe than driving a car if thats any comfort
Millions fly everyday without incident as do people driving cars.

yeah it's a pisser too, up until 3 yrs ago i never had a prob with flying but then i had an incident in an A320, followed by that AF A320 that fell out of the sky and ever since I get so anxious and worked up when taking off and landing
then im my own worse enemy because ill sit there for hours on end watching crash investigations on youtube and reading about stalls and whatnot lol.

Not all A319's are the same, a Spirit Air A319 for example wont be the same as an Air Canada bird.
I read all the AC marketing stuff online, but always like to see others experience when it comes to an airline I have yet to fly.
While its a non-stop is leaves in the afternoon, so the Delta connecting flight arrives earlier then the non-stop does (only 1 non-stop per day).
I love to fly, and will pretty much fly on any size airplane out there...
