Hi
We are thinking of moving to Canada possibly Toronto. Husband works in the aerospace industry as a supply chain manager and we looking into jobs for him to apply for. Does anyone recommend any firms or have any advise on this subject? Lots of Aerospace firms in USA but my search on Canada comes up with much less. Can anyone advise? Thanks

A google of 'Aerospace Industry Toronto' comes up with a bunch of hits including this one...http://www.toronto.ca/invest-in-toronto/aerospace.htm#2 Scroll down to 'major players' and it gives a list of companies that you could do some further research on.
This also looks useful.....http://www.utias.utoronto.ca/Asset2.aspx

There are a lot of aerospace firms in and around Montréal: Bombardier, Pratt and Whitney plus a whole host of smaller suppliers. Bomarbier announced a couple of months ago that they were building a new aircraft and would be needing more staff. Worth looking into this.

We have Diamond Aircraft in London. I know it's not Toronto but it's only a 2 hour drive and they are supposed to be a very up and coming company in the Light Aircraft Industry

Naturally there are not as many aero opportunities in Canada as in the US, it is only the size of California or NY state when taken in isolation.
However, there is Bombardier as a fair size manufacturer, and there are many component and maintenance operations within Canada that presumably require supply chain management. The company I work for supplies Boeing, BAE, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Northrop and others, and there are plenty of other businesses supplying the major Aero companies both in North America and elsewhere.
Here's a link to Canadian aero players according to wikipedia;

Winnipeg has an aerospace industry too....
Here is an excerpt from an article in the Winnipeg Free Press.
Aerospace
Manitoba's aerospace industry is dominated by four large operations -- Boeing, Standard Aero, Bristol Aerospace and ACTS.
While all four have great track records, international markets are not particularly favourable to any of them.
Winnipeg's Boeing Technology Canada is busy making parts for Boeing's much-delayed 787 and the company's main work force in Seattle has been on strike for three weeks now. ACTS paired back its workforce earlier this year. Standard Aero has a diversified client base and is expanding in Winnipeg, but parent company Dubai Aerospace Enterprise is already retrenching after an outrageous growth spurt.
Don Boitson, president of the Manitoba Aerospace Association and general manager of Bristol Aerospace, said it's too early to tell just how the global market will play out, but he did say international growth in air passenger traffic is slowing and demand for business jets is expected to increase slightly next year and decline for the following three years.
