Default Advice for a Uk Plumber please?

Hi,
My husband is a Plumber with his own business here in the UK.
We are looking into moving to Toronto suburbs / Oakville area.
We have definitely decided we want to move but don't know what is the best approach / way we should do this?
I thought that my OH should start contacting firms over there and see what the job situation is like.
I am a Registered Nurse too but only work part time so the likelihood of a visa through jobs would be with my OH I would have thought.
Though once in Canada I definitely want to work.
Do any plumbers have any advice / experience they could share with us please?
We are going to a Canada Expo next month but I have a feeling we will get more advice from everyone here on this forum!
We are hoping to do a trip in the Summer to the area we want to go to but I think we need to do the work / research now.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Many thanks
