Just wanted to tag onto this thread and say I'm heading out July / Aug 08, and planning on staying somewhere like a motel / YWCA for a month or so, then getting a rental... Although I have been offered the spare room of a girl I know already, but don't want to take the P.. Will stay with her for a few weeks and see how I get on...

I've written down all the sites and contacts given here, and will make use of htem when I move.
