My boyf brother has been there for 16 yrs as a Permanant residen, got married had a child etc. He has said he will sponsor us and also as they both have their business provide us with jobs etc. However after doing research I'm not sure if they can sponsor me. Could anybody help. I have looked at loads of websites and i have to admit get confused with this.
Thanks in advance

Someone who does will be along to respond shortly, no doubt - or you could look at the govt web site www.cic.gc.ca

Your boyfriend's brother may be well meaning, but he cannot sponsor you. See the section of the CIC website entitled Who can be sponsored. You'll see that a brother or sister can be sponsored if he/she is under 18 years of age and if he/she is single (not married and not in a common-law relationship). Your boyfriend does not qualify for that definition.
But, if you apply for a permanent residence visa in the skilled worker category, the presence of a sibling in Canada will give you extra points for adaptability. However, skilled worker applications are taking 5+ years these days.
You brother can help one of you to get a work permit if people in your occupation are in short supply. But he would need to demonstrate that he had recruited for the job (and that includes advertising the position across Canada) and that he had not managed to attract a qualified Canadian resident to the job.
I suggest you start out by reading the BE Wiki article entitled Canadian Immigration Overview and all of the other articles that flow from it. They provide links to the relevant pages of CIC's website, but they give you a few tips that CIC's website does not provide, e.g., which is a quicker way of applying.
Next, I suggest you read all of the Wiki articles that flow from the article on job hunting in Canada.
Hope that helps.

Hi
You missed one proviso in your first paragraph, has to be under 18 and a Orphan.

If one or both of you are under 35 you can apply for a BUNAC http://www.bunac.com/uk/ , this will pass the time (if) you decide to apply as a Skilled Worker.
