Hi Everyone,
could anyone let me know the address of the nearest office (don't know the name) where I can go and apply for my SIN number?

As some of you know I'm landing in Toronto on March 2nd with the OH and kids. I'm staying at the Days Hotel, Downtown Toronto. Is there a fee associated with the process of getting your SIN number?

1. There is no fee for the SIN
2. Look in the Blue pages of the telephone book for the closest HRSDC office to the Hotel.

There's no fee - just bring the relevant paperwork with you and they'll issue you a temporary card with your SIN on it; the plastic card will follow in the mail about 3 weeks later. I'd suggest either the Queens Quay office (right down on the waterfront) or the Toronto Centre office on St Clair (about as far north of the Days Inn on Carlton St as the waterfront is south - if that's the Days you're staying at...)

The address of the hotel is 30 Carlton St.

Oh, that one's ok. A little run down, perhaps, but alright and it's certainly well located for transit. There's another one that's on a really frightening corner.

I checked on Trip Advisor before I booked and it got great reviews, I never ever book hotels without consulting trip advisor first

No. It's a block from here, we had a phase of drinking there some years ago. Alas, I can't remember the interesting bartender's name.
