Accountancy jobs in Alberta
My husband and I are applying for a skilled worker visa, which apparently will take about 12-18 months to come through. In the meantime, I'd be great if one of us could secure a job offer in Western Canada so that we can get over there sooner. We're both accountants (I know!). Does anyone out there know any firms which might want an accountant with lots of experience in UK GAAP and UK tax? Or does anyone know what the job market is like out there for accountants??

Yeah, I think that is the best job market presently in Canada now, considering the
numbers of ads/positions for accountants and Accounting /Financial positions being
published everyday. I had a masters in Economics and Management, but shortly before
coming to Edmonton, switched to IT. That was a wrong step and an expensive one as
well for me. The IT marlet is DEAD, especially here in Alberta. You might also want
considering taking some CGA courses as well, that will give u a better stand I guess.

Re: Accountancy jobs in Alberta
Thanks, Boggy! Sorry about the delay in posting a reply - I've just returned from 9 days in Southern Alberta! Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to research the job market, but looked at some great properties! Can't wait to get out there now. Just hope our PR application is successful! Fingers crossed...
