we are going out to ontario around the ajax pickering area in Jan of next year to 'land' for a week, and we are struggling to find cheap accomadation. My parents are going to come out with us so we need 3 bedrooms, any body know of anywhere or any websites, there will be 4 adults and 3 children. we would prefer a house or a cottage as we went out 3 years ago to 'try it out', and used hotels which became tiring and expensive. any help would be gratefully received.

These places are no good for a week, it will be very hard to find a house for that length of time. If you have a car you could try the Residence Inn on Consumers Drive in Whitby. It is just off the 401 and they have 2 bedroom suites with a kitchen - my friends family stay there when they visit as she doesn't have enough room for them and they like it. There are lots of places around it to eat out but at least you have the option of cooking and you could then check out the supermarkets.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Ajax has fridges and microwaves in the room but you will have to drive everywhere as it is on the edge of the 401 and a subdivision.

Super 8 in Ajax is ok, not in the best area but it has a pool. The Comfort Inn Pickering has reasonable reviews on Trip Advisor.

There are some B&B's in Ajax/Whitby/Oshawa but they will be more expensive for all of you than the above places.
