........... Any thing I should know about them to stop me doing this??
I am restricted to Bell or Cogeco and so far Bell beats them hands down on price. Just hope that its not at the expense of service
Took Cogeco 6 mins to answer phone Bell answered straight away which I took as a good sign.

Bell is crap for high speed internet....The phone cost more...oh and when it thunders and lightning that interferes with reception on the telly..so upto....you...most cable companies you get free fittings and all the channels for 6 months and as long as it is same service provider it free to move too as many times as you want...another thing with cable you can split the cable into any room in the house...

We've had no problems with Bell so far. Everything was set up quickly and it offered everything we wanted. As others said the reception on the satellite is lost for a bit in thunderstorms but no big deal that always happened to our SKY dish too. Cable wasn't an option where we are. Not sure on the price comparison it seems kinda expensive to me but I havent compared it my OH looked into that.

Hi
We are with Bell, but had no choice where we are, although they always said thanks for choosing Bell whenever I called
We did have some problems receiving the wireless router package for the internet etc, although due to delays they did credit our account with some $$$ for the hassle.
Ok service for getting the TV hooked up, although it did take a couple of days to get somebody out to fix our phone line that went wrong.
I wouldn't say the cost is particularly good value in comparison to the UK but not a lot you can do about that

I personally wouldn't touch Bell with a barge pool again. When you talk to their customer reps they make promises that they don't forefill. I don't think that it's malice, just good old fashioned incompetence.
We had to terminate our service with them when we moved to our new house because (a) at that time dishes were dicouraged and (b) they could not provide high speed internet to our new location. So I tried to sell the receiver that I had bought. They stymied the receiver sale by demanding $70 from the purchaser for a new card (these cost about $5 max to make and post out) . But there was light at the end of the tunnel. They said that they would buy my old receiver back from me for a faire price and that they would send me a box to ship it back in. I waited for 3 weeks and nothing. When I phoned them about this I got "oh you shouldn't have been promised that, the offer ended two weeks previously". Apart from not honouring the offer by their rep, they left me waiting without the courtessy to simply send a letter saying that they couldn't fullfill the offer.
This was just the last of many such issues.
Fume.

Thanks to you all for your feed back.
My only other option is Cogeco but they were so expensive.

One thing that I will say for Bell is that you get a better range/choise of programs than for example Shaw cable which was the only option for us when we initially moved into our new house.

When I arrive in Vancouver I think I'll be using Shaw - The no contract part is what sealed the deal for me!

Watch out for the hidden charges: Bell love them, and those modem rental fees and network charges add up. Make sure you've included those in the price that you're comparing with the competition.
