Default about 90 days update letter?

hello to everyone,
can someone please let me know that what happen if someone is not able to provide all the documents CHC asked for in 90 days? your case will be refused or they can give you more time to provide all these documents?thanks

"Extensions to this deadline cannot be granted. The onus is on the
applicant to provide the documents within the timeframe given. If you
are unable to meet the deadline because you are still gathering your
documents, submit what you can before the deadline along with a cover
letter explaining the delay in the submission of your remaining
documents. This letter will be placed on file for the officer's
consideration when your file is assessed. The visa officer will then
make a decision to approve your application, refuse it or call you in
for an interview based on the information and documents on your file."

The above quote is from an e-mail i received from London visa office, you can e-mail them about your missing documents.
