Hi madmac...I found resumes here are much more about selling yourself and your soft skills and less about your actual ability lol....much more use of keywords...favourites are multi-faceted, exceptional, accomplished, innovative, diverse etc....typically should have the following sections: personal details, objectives, profile (all your soft skills and highlighted achievements), professional experience, education, technical proficiencies and references!
my resume top line is
"Accomplished, multifaceted Consultant with extensive experience managing, designing, developing and implementing innovative applications and systems to increase operational efficiency and productivity, while supporting attainment of defined business objectives."
in Scotland I'd have been laughed at...

Here's the Canadian way to do it. http://www.your-cv-coach.com/cv-power-words.html
Top tip from me - don't use all the power words in the same para
You'll have to learn to blow your own trumpet with great gusto
Good luck!
