Thank Christ for that. We're off on a recce in three weeks to BC and the PPR has come through today. It would have cast a bit of a shadow over the holiday if it hadn't received by the time we went.

476 days from initial application to PPR. Who would have believed that when we applied in March last year?

Now, to the classic question which has been asked before, but I cant find a definite answer for:

Landing... It feels like people have done it and flown back after two weeks but it all looks adhoc. Are there any nightmare stories?

Passport change... My partner has a passport that runs out in two years and she's fretting. Whats the procedure again?

Name change... We might (heaven forbid) think about tying the knot at some point. What's the paperwork like for that?

Hi and congratulations, I am on a similar timeline to you and storking the postman every morning for the letter asking for passports!!! so maybe not far off now!

Paperwork for tying the knot not too onerous at all. You can even check it all out online (look up marriage and the province you'll be resident in).

Landing and then going away again isn't a problem... you just need an address to which they send your PR cards and then be there to get them or have them forwarded to you. They don't look too kindly on people not having their PR cards on the way back in.
