Hi,
I'm looking for some advice / guidance. We ( wife and I ) landed at Vancouver in December 09, before returning back to Blighty in January after 3 week holiday.
We've just accepted an offer on our house ( fingers crossed everything will go through OK ).
Next plan is to get movers in for quotes for a container to Vancouver. Plan to be back in Vancouver in November.

We're moving from a 3 bed UK house and plan to move into a 1 bed apartment in North Vancouver, to get settled and find our feet.

Has anyone done something similar ? Trying to work out logistics of unloaded a container of essentials and then storing the other items.
Had heard talk about POD storage.

Does your apartment have a storage locker? The only issue with PODs might be where you store it. The guys that live downstairs used one when they were moving but they could park it in the front of the house. You'd probably have to get the property manager's permission to do the same if you're in a building.

Rent for a few months until you decide what you like and don't like. Far easier to move around.

If you want storage, Google Mini Storage+North Vancouver and you'll get a selection. Different size units available, heated and unheated.

Yes apartment will probably have a storage locker although I guess not soo big.
I'll check with removal companies when getting quotes Re: storage.

It is a while since I checked the prices but you should be able to rent a lockup in a public storage facility with enough room to store the contents of a three bedroom house for around $150 a month.
