Default 15 months of waiting?

I've scoured most discussion groups regarding emmigration to Canada. It appears to me the very few people who have heard anything about their application for PR under the skilled category applied some 15 months ago! I applied in April 2002 and 15 months seems along time to put your life on hold!
Anybody seen any light at the end of the tunnel yet?

It all depends from many factors and 15 months today is rather very fast process in
just few visa posts, while in most visa posts current processing times are counted in
years, not months. You should have done more research on the subject before "putting
your life on hold".

Andrew I thought the new law was supposed to sort out this problem and bring down
waiting times. Seems not to have worked so far ...

Jeremy,

Before we will enjoy benefits of new law the existing backlog of pending cases must
be eliminated and it will take some time.

Hello Andrew
A rather unhelpful response on the whole. In fact when I applied the latest estimate was interview in just over 6 months, that was from both Canadian and UK immigration consultants, people in the same profession as yourself!...My research so far has cost me about £4000 that included a fact finding trip to Canada earlier this year.

Looks like you were talking to people who wanted your money at any cost, even by
lying to you. Just check mine and other contributors posts in this group from April
2002 (or even from last year) and you'll see that we were stating at that time 12 to
17 months wait for the interview in CHC London. If anyone was telling you in April
2002 that wait for the interview was just over 6 months then you were simply lied to
- there was no visa post anywhere with interview queue shorter than then 8 months
from assessment notice or at least a year from application date.
