UK Childcare/College qualifications help!
Hey
I work in childcare and will have the highest college childcare qualifications you can get in the UK (which is a CACHE Diploma) when I am finished at college soon.
I am looking to move to The Netherlands soon as I am getting married to a Dutch guy and of course will be looking for a job, hopefully in childcare as a Nursery(Crèche / Kinderdagverblijf) Nurse or Teaching assistant.
Anyway the purpose of my thread is to find out if my qualifications would be recognised on the same level in the Netherlands as in the UK? and what are the job prospects for childcare jobs?
I've looked all over the net for any info and emailed a few English speaking nurseries in Holland to ask questions but non have replied
Any adivce/help would be greatly thanked!
Pippa.

Re: UK Childcare/College qualifications help!
Hi, I too would like to know whether my UK qualifications will be accepted - and what the equivalents are in the Netherlands.

Looks like you might ask Danielle Harris:
Here's her CV:

And here's her new job in Rotterdam:

Perhaps you could contact her at the AISR?

Re: UK Childcare/College qualifications help!
Hi there, I moved to Amsterdam a little over a year ago, from the UK. My bf is dutch, and I wanted to move out here rather than him moving to the UK..basically, what I did, was google english speaking schools in Amsterdam..and sent them an e-mail, giving my qualifications, and some personal details. I actually recieved quiet a few interested emails back..some were not really practical, since they were quite far from where I wanted to relocate, but some were promising. I got 2 job interviews rather easily, one with The British School of Amsterdam, the other with a Dutch/English nursery called 2 voices. My advice is to just email schools/nurseries, send them an email, tell them your qualifications, experiences etc..and just put yourself out there.
I am not sure what the dutch equivalents are for the qualifications, but you can get jobs in English speaking childcare agencies, that will use English qualifications. (hope this was of some use)
