So can you tell me what you did for your leaving party?
Did you have one?
Was it just a meet up in the pub?
Did you book anywhere?
Do you wish you had done something different?
Tell me all about it!

We had several - one each from work, a big do in the pub for our friends, and went out for meals with family.

we are not really leaving a huge network of family and friends behind to be honest. ith the frequency we see some family members i doubt they will even notice we have gone.

Oh yes we had a party, well my sister Louise did for us. It was the day before we left, and i will never forget it. everybody from my family turned up, i was very worried about it at first cos of all the tears etc and yes there was a few, i promised myself and so did Nick not to drink, well that went out of the window, i ended up busting some serious moves on the dance floor (my sisters house)!
Nick had a leaving do at work a came home very merrie with our £'s changed up into $ in his pocket i wasnt happy that day :curse:
We also saw Nicks mum and dad ate loads & loads & loads
Actually I thnk Nick had a few leaving do's :curse:
I dont think it matters what you do just make yourself happy xx

Our group of friends threw us a BBQ leaving party at their house... invited over our usual crowd and then toasted us all well... apparently I cried and then told OH that I didnt want to leave and that I was going to live with my friends.. (can't remember much about that part... was down a fair amount of way into the bottle or 7)

We didn't have a party as I didn't want to say goodbye to everyone on one night - thought it would be too much. So we went out drinking with the drinking friends, had meals with the family and work friends and it dragged on and on, we seemed to be saying goodbye for a month and it made it harder than it should have been.
Looking back I wished we had a party as it would have made it easier and over in one night!

Our friends in the States threw a great leaving party for us when we sold up there then, six months later when we left the UK four of us sat on the carpet in our emptied house quaffing red wine from jamjars. Just as much fun!

We had a party....we hired a huge hall...the only one available at short notice. We had loads of people there.... unfortunately the house sale was delayed and we still didn't know when we were leaving, so I think it lost it's impact. We had bunting, flags and blown up photos about the place.
We had an "open house" on the last day and the place was packed....very emotional, but it was great to say a final goodbye to the people we love....

Took our close family members out for a meal the night before we left, said our goodbye's then instead of having anyone at the airport, would highly recomend this!

We are having a huge party just cos time is getting tight. Hired a room in a hotel. Will theme it a bit. Got facepainting for all the kids. Bar and finger buffet. Thought we would do a big send off mainly because people asked if we were!

That was the other thing - we insisted no family was coming to the airport with us. In fact some friends were going to meet somebody coming into the airport so they dropped us and had to run to pick up their other friends.
