Great plan but yes they have to be older. I did it once when my youngest was just 13 and after a few days realised that everything in the bags was stuff I'd/we'd bought and I was damned if I was lobbing it so bit by bit it came back

Not tidy room, then no socialising. That's the rule with my daughter. If she has no social arrangements, then the laptop can get confiscated. She can't live without it.

Our 17 year old son has been 'looking down on us' for years now. His height has made him popular with the girls.

They start telling you off for drinking, staying out late and not letting them know where you are

They start telling you what to wear.
Their clothes are handed down to you.
They ask you when are you going to bed.

You start worrying about them making you a grandparent by accident

You can only just rest your chin on your sons shoulder when he gives you a hug.

Your daughter borrows your shoes/boots.

You don't like/understand the music they're listening to.

Yeah, our kids were on our case about smoking, for ages!!! Finally gave up in Jan this year.

They do have a drink every now and then, so I don't think they will be too harsh on us about drinking... just yet!

Phone? well if they're paying the bill thats fair enough...

Easy for me to say - controlling my 5 & 3yr old girls is still just about managable with simple bribery at the moment, but the writing is on the wall - I see LOTS of attitude growing already....

I'm sorry if this sounds smug but so far so good: Two boys, one 14 and the other 11, very few signs of attitude ...yet.
