The thing is, it only rears it's head when you try and stop. If the thought of going 2 weeks without a drink is something you don't want to contemplate - you have a problem. I had issues with alcohol for years, but became free in September. I think alcohol/smoking /drugs are a problem depending how you as a person see it. I have drunk quite heavy for years and used to smoke. In 2004 I spent 16 weeks in hospital (4x4 week stints). I can honestly say that I smoked a lot more each day (usually 2/3 a day and went to 5/6 while in hospital )and only twice did I fancy a beer and that was on a sunny day when the football was on. Without getting "deep" about things it is what bothers you as a person. I only wish I could drink less due to the health implications - I have no intention of giving up drinking where as being a smoker bothered me - I gave up smoking months ago - good luck Lewis :) . |
