Yet another disappointing "summer" in the UK comes to a close...

Been three in a row now. Not much rain lately and temps fairly mild, But... starting to feel the autumn chill setting in already!

Have to agree - in K*nt we've not had a bad summer at all. The kids have been out most days, only the odd day of rain & I've been wearing my shorts since June....much, much better than the last couple of years have been

I was there for the whole of July and it rained every day. Went up to Liverpool and it was not only pissing down but freezing too. If you think the UK had a good summer you are dreaming.

There was even a headline news item one day on how bad the weather was - the Met Office were in trouble because they'd forecast a 'barbecue' summer earlier in the year - which apparantly caused heaps of people to take their summer holidays in Britain.

Some breakfast TV program then did a special from some beach in Glamorgan which was windswept, soaking, grey and ghastly. You had to feel truly sorry for the poor damp kids being filmed whose parents had believed the weather forecast.

Exactly - I'd slit my wrists if I had to live there again.

It is funny though as I always though what on earth are people moaning at saying how cold it is in the winter in Oz it sounds like the British summer! Then you expeexperienceinter here with no heating, double glazing, carpets anywhere to dry wet clothes, warmer much warmer outside than in the house!Bring your jumpers for the house we have been know to sit around in the evening with blankets on
.Though this winter has not been so cold. The main difference is you know you are going to get a hot summer here so it is easy to put up with a few cold months.Sue

You don't know how lucky you are; at least you can go outside all summer. Here in Brisbane summertime is like being in a prison. You have to be inside between 0900 and 1700 because of the heat and humidity and then when it gets every so slightly cooler the sun goes down - and it's dark!
