Heard that on the news earlier. Still trying to work out how they will know exactly which Magpie it was. :unsure: Bloody silly, everyone knows that they swoop when protecting their young, you just take precautions not wipe 'mummy' out.

Its ridiculous, the magpie's are only protecting their nests :( .There is , I believe , only a relatively short period of time that people need to be careful,as they become aggressive then..
people can have very aggressive dogs, that pose far more of a threat, and the police are often unwilling/unable to act. I think its pathetic :thumbdown:

Come on G, even you can do better than that! A clutching at straws statement if ever there was one.

I used to look upon Magpies as just another bird. One year, we had a nest of Starlings in the eaves of our house in Surrey. Starlings are great birds, and it was a pleasure to have them around, but are on the verge of becoming an endangered species, and Magpies are one of the reasons. I came home one day, and all the Starling chicks were dead on the ground with their eyes and brains pecked out, courtesy of a local Magpie. I started to do some research and discovered that when Magpies start to dominate an area, all the other birds start to die out. In areas where Magpies are culled (like I said they are considered vermin under UK law), all the other birds return and flourish. So I started offing the little black and white ******s with an air rifle. Did my bit for the area and it felt pretty good too.
