To be fair most of Pomsters posts are aimed squarely at how 'bad' things are here.
Its a beautiful day today where I am, shorts and tshirt.

Had someone come along and said 'only in England' then you have a point. As they didn't, you don't. Not every single flaming thread needs to have a disclaimer saying 'aware this happens in other parts of the world'.

Why?

It is absurd that someone should whinge about something happening in the UK, and others jump in to agree, when exactly the same things happen here.

I did like the comment in the newspaper; Can I use my hosepipe to syphon the water out of my flooded rear courtyard or is the hosepipe ban still in place? Cue the shot of the bloke in his rear garden up to his knees in water hose in hand:D

Indeed....at least the British keep their sense of humour about it instead of looking for someone to sue

To be honest I'd not noticed. However I prefer to take a thread as is and not assume stuff just because there's been a negative/positive slant previously.

I take it you're not in Tewkesbury then? :) I was (still am) in jeans and jumper and it's beautiful here too. Not much to choose between the UK in Spring and Aus in Autumn imo anyway, both fab.

it was actually meant to be amusing.

It seems you stalk me and only jump on the things I write about the UK which can be construed as vaguely negative. It was a comment about the weather FFS.

(It was something which amused me, which has been rare in the couple of weeks since my mother died, so pardon me for daring to be lighthearted for a moment. And if I sound pissed off its because I am.)

I remember struggling with that concept when I first arrived in Oz and had yet to fully comprehend the vagaries of Australian weather. Seeing areas that were officially in drought and with farmers in receipt of drought payments, under several foot of water was a bit odd. :D

The Illawarra has only recently had a 'generational event' where it rained, non-stop, for around five days.... and I do mean non-stop. It never stopped once in all that time. I've never seen anything like it.

Wait until the UK "June monsoon" - usually strikes around Wimbledon time. (My dad's term and he was a meteorologist.)

Did Australia send its weather to the UK for a holiday??? Or is it just la Nina normalising things and giving the UK all the rain they missed out on?

+1

Its a Pavlov's Dog thing. "Ding" - "how dare you say that about the UK"

It doesn't matter if its true, the Government of the day said it and 10,000 experts confirmed it, the cheer squad will pop up and argue that it isn't.

It makes the Pravda reporting of the USSR 5 years plans seem normal.

I am over the total stupidity of it.

Yes, but isn't that typical Mellie weather??? Whenever my OH goes there for work it is always raining. We have a beautiful autumn day here in Sydney.
