Wow... no kids at home tonight. !!!!
I think this is the first time in 27 years and 10 months, we havent had any of our kids at home to look after, or have at home.
Sure we have gotten away for a very few weekends on our lonesome during that period. Generally the children have been looked after back at home.
So tonight, the 27 year old, Luan moved out about 4 weeks ago (hopefully no more crisis bring her back this time).... Nyree, the UK returnee 25 year old is always out and about, no worries with her.
Shona the 16 YO is probably staying at her mates, after going to some underage do in Prahran, which she will get to and from herself. Her ears actually pricked up when she learned the youngest would be out, and has "volunteered to stay out" we are debating that one LOL.
Finally our 12YO Ethan, very much a home loving boy, and very slow to stay at freinds places without us, is staying overnight at his mates place.. loves his own bed.
We seriously wont know ourselves !!!
I think a Spa maybe in order
If it has happened before, I reckon it would have been circa 16 years or so back and Shona was the result
Just wondered if 27 years plus with kids in ones household is a record for these forums.

Nyree, cool name. Only ever heard that name once before and that was Nyree Dawn Porter.
Last it was just us, I thought it would be nice to get out for a meal without having to worry about kids pick up etc etc, the husband came in the house at about 6, said he felt like crap and went to bed.

We have the house to ourselves tonight too. Daughter is babysitting for Family of 3 and son is out at a friend's. So far we've had a bottle of bubbly and a skinny dip. Now the old man is sitting watching Air Crash Investigation while I surf the web.
Oh, just looked over at him and he's asleep. Air Crash is still on, though.

Re: Wow... no kids at home tonight. !!!!
Son came back home at 10.00 pm last night.
He went to a Greek single parents house, who has a strict regime with her only Son. She insisted they be in bed by 9.30 pm. Which is something my son isn't at all comfortable with. So he tried, then got really upset, and asked to phone to come home. His friend feel asleep straight away.... Apparently she wanted to watch a Movie, our son said.
Not sure what to make of that one, but when 12/13 yo's come here on the weekend, they are generally in a bedroom or one of the lounges if there are a few of them, with the TV and playstation on which usually means they go to sleep between 2 and 3am. I thought that would have been the usual thing on a weekend ?
Told him, in that kids particular case... A sleep over really is a sleep over LOL.

My daughter tends to go to bed at 10-11pm when on a sleepover, and she is 15!!!! Normally she goes at about 9pm or earlier, as she gets up at 4:45 or 5am for swimming training. Most of her friends are asleep by midnight too. When they come here, they go to the other end of the house by 11pm as the computer and tv are near our bedroom and hers is as far away from us as possible! She has a psp and a gameboy, and a cd player, but no tv or computer in her bedroom, so they chat for a bit and then sleep.
